Those who ended up behind bars are often individuals with complicated pasts. People who made one single mistake that cost them their freedom. Each story is unique, but they share one common thread - had they discovered self-love and love for others sooner, they might not have lost something important, much like van Gogh, who lost his ear.
The idea to organise a charity exhibition was conceived in 2023 when the works of prisoners from Banská Bystrica Prison were exhibited for the first time in order to sold and to provide financial assistance to children battling cancer.
The installation of works will be available to the public at MERDE ROYALE from 23 July 2024 to 18 August 2024
Admission to the exhibition is free, but visitors have the opportunity to purchase the works on display or make a small donation.
When we´ll save one life...
